Zak is an architect with 29 years of professional experience working in leading roles on the client as well as the consultants’ side. He has managed and delivered high end projects worldwide and has worked with renowned multinational consultants, Foster + Partners in London and leading regional real estate developers, Meraas/ Dubai Holding in Dubai and Amaala / Red Sea Global in Saudi Arabia.
Zak joined Foster + Partners, London in 2002. His role and responsibilities expanded and became a partner of the practice in 2009 managing the design and delivery of several projects worldwide with a focus on the MENA region.
Zak moved to Dubai in 2013 to join Meraas Holding. As Head of Architecture, he worked with an array of stakeholders and multinational consultants to manage the design and delivery of several large-scale mixed-use projects form inception to completion.
In May 2020, Zak joined Amaala/Red Sea Global, a mufti billion USD development on the western coast of Saudi Arabia lead by the Saudi Public Investment Fund and focused on ultra luxury hospitality developments. As Head of Design, he led a very large team of professionals and oversaw the design activities across all projects covering all disciplines: Master planning, Architecture, Landscape, Public Realm, Interior Design and Engineering.
Zak's field of expertise lies in setting the project vision and development goals, selection and management of consultants and internal stakeholders, design control, project efficiency and optimization.
