Diana Wiesner
An activist in socio-ecological issues and an architect-designer from the Universidad de los Andes, she specializes in Landscape Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires with a master's degree in Bioclimatic Studies and studies in biodiversity, urban planning, and sustainable sciences. She is the director of her company with recognized experience in urban ecology with social management. She is the founder and director of the Cerros de Bogotá Foundation: a leading civic organization in management processes and defense of the natural system of Bogotá and its region, whose work has sought to undertake citizen actions and build consensus on visions for the city and its landscape.
She has received various awards in national and international biennials of architecture and landscape, art, sustainable construction, and social management. Her most recent recognitions include the 2021 Award for Excellence in Sustainable Architecture - VIDRIO ANDINO. Public vote, 1st Prize, Bogotá Public Space Biennial, 2019. Selected by Forbes magazine in 2020 as one of the outstanding Latin American architects. Professor and lecturer at the national and international levels (more than 10 countries). She represents civic and environmental organizations and has been a member of the Verification Committee for the Council of State's ruling on the Bogotá Hills since 2010. She leads the Civil Society and Children's Node of the Latin American Landscape Initiative. She is a contributing author to Nature of Cities. She has served as President of the International Jellicoe Award jury from 2018 to 2023.
