LJ-Group - Podgorica - Conceptual Project

Location: Podgorica, Montenegro

The landscape design proposal for the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Natural History, and the Park of Culture & Arts in Podgorica, Montenegro, aims to establish a strong connection between the site and its surrounding biomes.

A key concept is linking the Gorica Forest, the project site, and the Moraca River through the use of native species—particularly in the botanical garden—and the creation of a Green Belt along the plot. This belt enhances local ecosystems, supports biodiversity, and provides habitats for insects and birds, forming a cohesive green park that unifies the three cultural institutions. Within the site, this green belt also acts as a defining feature of the park. Green roofs and vertical gardens further enrich biodiversity while offering thermal insulation and managing rainwater runoff.

Connectivity is a central focus, ensuring seamless integration with the city. The site has no physical barriers, allowing easy access. A primary avenue links the main spaces to Ivana Crnojevića Boulevard, while transversal axes connect Vaka Đurovića Street to the Moraca River. Prioritizing pedestrian and bicycle pathways promotes sustainable mobility, transforming the space into a welcoming urban destination.
