Masar Destination is a new urban development project in  Makkah, Saudi Arabia, that will connect the Haramain Train  Station with the Kaaba, the sacred center of Islam.  

The 3.6 km long project will feature a pedestrian boulevard,  designed by One Works, called MASAR front, lined with mixed use developments, including hotels, residences, and commercial  spaces. The project aims to improve pedestrian mobility and  crowd management, particularly during peak seasons like the Hajj  pilgrimage (2.5 million pilgrims in 2019). Public spaces will be divided  into six distinct zones, each offering a unique experience that blends  contemporary design with elements rooted in Islamic tradition. This  creates a dynamic and engaging journey for pedestrians, where  modern aesthetics harmonize with familiar cultural motifs. The  project also prioritises sustainability in terms of materials, promoting  walkability, and natural shading. With construction underway, Masar  Destination is poised to become a vibrant commercial and cultural  hub, offering visitors a modern, convenient, and culturally rich  experience.
